How I first saw this guitar... not such a flattering photo considering the superb example that arrived here in the UK following the simple and friendly negotiations. More than just a lovely lump of mahogany, truly a powerful and professional play, in such wonderful condition! As soon as it arrived I had to take some better pictures! Remain Calm Dave: Respect required...
From: Halkans Rockhouse - Stockholm, arrived UK 4th October 2001 Click on picture thumbs to view full size: Cosmetically quite similar to the late model Swede, the SuperSwede has a sharper horn shape, a single 3 way switch for pickup variations, and a small coil tapping switch, a zero fret for endless sustain, and the pick guard is set lower down from the strings (against the body more). The pickups are wilder than the Swede models, and on early amps this guitar is almost too powerful. Again compared to the Swede models (which use the Gibson scale, the SuperSwede has the slightly wider set fret spacing of the Fender Scale. No lightweights, solid mahogany body, with ebony fretboard. Many colours are available, indeed it was said that Hagstrom would provide any colour you wanted, but I do like to appreciate the wood itself - especially when it's this good! Click the link above to "Sweedest Feeling" to compare this to the late models Swede. The visitors pages and the electrics page show many other examples. Gorgeous!
This is no lightweight axe, yet if you like
it you won't be put off... Take a browse through
You could get a Hagstrom in ANY colour you wanted - yes REALLY!

There's nothing like a REAL original Swedish made Hagstrom (and there are loads around), but if it 'floats your boat', or you can't find an original then who are we to say? | |
