Hagstwelve - twice the action! When this Hagstrom 12 beauty came up for sale I pondered the best method of packing, and in friendly co-operation with the seller, we agreed the best method. Fortunately USPS said the package was too big by 4 inches all round! (Enter UPS). Four working days and it was in England! Anyway, this is the Hagstrom 12, the H-12 or sometimes the F-12S depending on
which catalogue you had
Within hours of receiving it, I was home, not in a hot room - allow it to settle, tune her up, switch on the 310, plug her in... and Christopher said "Oh Please Daddy..." ... I did get to play it eventually. I can 'connect' with the sound of a Twelve string - as some may know - and this is an incredibly good electric rendition of the genre. Different but still a twelve in it's fullness. The neck is narrower than the acoustic BJ12 or H33, yet the action is still as unbelievably low - you can't slide a Pound coin sideways between the strings and the finger board even at the 15th fret. No buzz either. Perfect eh?
Golden Boulder still use some Hagströms at gigs... If you have You Tube or similar Vintage Hagström Links - let us know! See the H-III / F300 Here | See the HII / F200 Here Take a browse through

There's nothing like a REAL original Swedish made Hagstrom (and there are loads around), but if it 'floats your boat', or you can't find an original then who are we to say? | |
