Visitors Hagstrom Acoustics
The Espana range was a brand name created for Buegeleisen & Jacobson to compete with the Hershman Goya range. Bjarton manufactured the instruments for some time, then B&J moved production to the Finnish manufacturer Landola. You can usually tell a Landola acoustic model by a crown logo inlaid somewhere in the body or headstock. For lovers of any acoustic guitar it is clear that values serve the buyer very well. The market has been drowned by cheap (and cheap quality) examples in recent years so all but the most hyped brands have suffed in value. This applies to Hagstrom to some extent, but the better known steel strung models have been some good exceptions. Sub brands fair less well - unless of course you are the buyer - and inevitably you can not believe the mature quality found in an old España (Landola or Bjarton) made, or the lesser Hagstrom models. Truth be known Landola are still in business and very respected. Dare I say they made the better versions of the Espana? Just look at the detail. Here is one of the Finnish Landola Model versions of the SL1. Pictures and info sent to us in October 2008 by Eric Hardy. Just got this beauty off ebay and love it!
Hope the pics do it justice. Serial #104904. I've been studying classical guitar for about 5 months now and my Venturo Bruno has a few issues that are a problem for me now. I am amazed at the difference with this guitar. I am looking forward to many years of happiness with it. CLICK THE SMALL PICS TO OPEN LARGER VERSIONS At 46 and a college freshman majoring in music I stick out here at school. Scratching this itch that has gnawed at my soul forever is making life most enjoyable. Anyway...I used your website to determine that I should bid on this guitar and am glad I did. Delivered it cost me a total of $112.35 USD. It has been set up with new strings and is in pristine shape for a guitar that isn't straight from the factory. Hope that whoever reads this is having a great day....Eric So why the Landola brand on the pages? Karl Erik Hagstrom gave Buegeleisen & Jacobson the brand name Espana when he first sold the idea to them. You can see other Espana examples including non Landola models

There's nothing like a REAL original Swedish made Hagstrom (and there are loads around), but if it 'floats your boat', or you can't find an original then who are we to say? | |
