SOME PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO CASH IN THE NEW FOR OLD

Some new models being advertised as vintage is at best ridiculous mistake, but the
Swede model does look quite similar at first. It is very different to play, and the pickups
sound very different. It may be an OK guitar, but it is not an original Swedish made guitar

Please don't get ripped off by unscrupulous or maybe those that don't know better.

Early Swede models with standard design stop tail had a single strap nut at the base, but this later version had two...
There is however confusion in 2009, as I have seen some completely
new but different style models with the double strap nut.

The original Swede uses a tail finished bright chrome, the metal has tarnished on the new one here...
Original screws and bolts are smaller precision parts than the ones used on the new pickguard
The original truss rod rod cover does not say "Swede" block print. It is blank on the original Swede.
There were variations of the old Hagstrom Swede models between 1971 and 1982
- see below for links to try and help you not get ripped off like the poor soul above

The original SuperSwede is a bit easier to identify, it has a sharp lower horn, the pickguards were not white or cream,
they were fitted almost flat to the body to allow good clearance to the coil tap swich.
There was a ZERO FRET for stunning sustain, and they sound powerful, wide and very versatile.

The new Viking - is very different to the original - sound, feel, shape, finish, the tailpiece says "Sweden Design"
on the originals it said "Made in Sweden"

(I have to say, as I've been informed, that the new production is very good value and sells well)
There are certainly plenty around.
The same does not apply to the originals.
