Bits and Pieces Homepage | News | Memorabilia Well I could not think where to put this first item, so I had to start a new page which will contain odd bits and pieces I come across in future. Well why all the fuss? This is a simple little item, but interesting none the less. Those knobs or dials, one of those difficult to find items now, and not available anymore... did you know it was a two piece assembly, or three if you include the insert with 'Volume' or 'Tone'? There were also a variety of fixing methods inside, from a spring strip through to a tiny allen grub screw through the side wall. The lower picture shows one came off an amp I had flown over to the UK in 2005. It had no insert in it (it should have been a silver plain concave disc of course on an amp), but I had a 'volume' insert which of course fits just as well, so for the photo, it was placed in position. The key thing was this had come apart in transit, and the first time I'd realised it was made this way. So after all the build up I hope it isn't an anti-climax to see the picture!

There's nothing like a REAL original Swedish made Hagstrom (and there are loads around), but if it 'floats your boat', or you can't find an original then who are we to say? | |
