May 26th 2005 - There is a new section below these two original magical pieces of history...

You see adverts on the internet for all kinds of NOS ("New Old Stock" for anyone who has wondered) items. I suppose we have here the ultimate NOS Hagstrom presentation! "How come?" you say, well feast your eyes on Michael Seaman's recent find...

I continuously read the hyperbole written into every description of guitars for sale (my son plays, so I'm always selling and replenishing his stock of common guitars).

But these two Hagstroms are really in a class by themselves - likely the only boxed, un-played original vintage Swede and Super Swede in the world. Period.

The Swede hasn't been tuned, played or plugged in. The Super Swede has had perhaps eight/ten/twelve chords played on it and was then returned to the carton, save for picture-taking.

As you know, for me, this began as a search for a 'made-in-china' Swede for my son to play. I'm not a collector and it's too much effort keeping my boy's hands off these guitars...

I shall just allow you to feast on the pictures Michael kindly sent to me, and pray most sincerely, that these historic pieces remain in a safe place - not to become traded fodder, or sullied by becoming the newest 'players'. Having come this far as they are, what would be the best outcome? Goodness only knows... I suppose my feeling of protection and purity are simply a disguise for my underlying jealousy :-)... (At least I'm honest).

May 25th 2005 ...and so it is, that these two examples have returned home to Sweden. Arne is a collector I have not yet had the pleasure of communicating with. However I have heard about his reputation . This is a good end to the story!

How could you add to something as wonderful as the above eh?
Well Sleeping Beauty found her Prince... but he wasn't as handsome as this...

OK now you can say something... "WOW!" maybe?
