Älvdalen town!

Wednesday restarted at 8am, and a visit to the Hotel Älvdalen for breakfast. This is a popular community hotel serving excellent food at a price that the local people appreciate for everyday meals. Now that in itself is a refreshing idea!

The statue of Albin Hagstrom still resides outside the original Music Store attached to one of the Hagstrom buildings. The day we visited it had just been raised up on a new plinth. So we were the first to take photos in it's new elevated position.
Another day of sunshine and much anticipation had started!

OK so what spares do we want?

Rolf packs up the pieces, and Stefan shows us a couple of loaded pickguards and blank bodies!
You can see a Coronada IV Bass with the original Bi-Sonic pickups as favoured by Guild and others
Plus a single pickup style that was sent to Canada in 1971 as a special H1.
This loud pickup was later used in a pair on the Partner model.

Right On! What guitars do we want? An old Kent, and an 'employee project' Viking

And before you say it - Yes they've got some neck(s).

Looks like a right case... no I don't mean Stefan.

More on cars later in the journey, and here's a neat way to keep the flowers watered!

The big cat is called "Lo" and its favourite menu is deer. It can also catch moose, but this is very rare. Probably the size disadvantage plays a major role here. An adult moose weighs between 400 and 800LB!

The wolves in the area, on the other hand, prefer moose to anything else. Their advantage is number, thus reducing the risk of injury during the kill. Their disadvantage is that they sometimes party on fenced in sheep making them very unpopular and occasionally subject to poaching by local sheep farmers and hunters.

The brown bear eats anything, alive or dead, plant or animal, except humans and it can easily kill a full grown male moose should it be able to sneak up unnoticed out of the wind.
(Thanks again to Anders for the corrections here)

You'll very rarely get a sight of any of these, apart from maybe Moose, but then if you're driving - watch out...

...the resulting damage could be mutual!

Next up... the Museum...

By Thursday the weather had cooled a bit. This was a relief as the summers are as glorious as the winters can be deep and crisp with snow. It wasn't by any means cold, and the remainder of our time was a pleasant mix of anticipation for some well needed rain, and sunny summer spells.

There's nothing like a REAL original Swedish made Hagstrom (and there are loads around), but if it 'floats your boat', or you can't find an original then who are we to say?

Plenty has been said already and
will be said forever forward probably.
Only you know what's right for you!
